Causes of the American Revolution

There are a lot of misconceptions about the American War for Independence. The biggest one is that it was all about taxes. I enjoyed your artice. I agree that there are so many "mythologies" when it comes to the causes of the American Revolution. I completely agree. I am also interested in how the conflict between the colonists and Parliament evolved to full-scale war, when Parliament could have avoided the whole thing by simply doing nothing. Instead, the egos of the time had to speak up.
